WELCOME!

Supguide is a new training location to practise the fairly new sports of Stand Up Paddling. Supping is mostly known from a holiday / recreational perspective. It’s true it brings a lot of fun. An important premise to continue with sports and movement.   Our goal is to guide you to a SUP level that you will experience it as a total body work out. So you will approach it like running, skating or another WOD (Workout Of the Day). When your skills are good enough we will take you to water tours in and around the beautiful area of Amsterdam.

ABOUT

LESSONS & TRAINING

Everybody can sup! We can introduce you to elementary technique. But if you really would like to hit the funfactor then aim for a bit more. It’s a full body workout and SUPPING will help you improve your body posture.

DUO Sup training

DUO SUP training is ideal for you and your “SUP-buddy” when you have some experience with watersports. You have done canoeing, kayaking, wind / wave surfing. You have some knowledge of handling a paddle.

These basics are important so we can stay together. It’s the most cost effective way to learn and or improve SUPPING. Share the costs and have double the fun!

SUP Training PRIVATE

Private lessons are the most effective way to learn. You get full focus of the trainer and major progression can be made. If you don’t have any experience with watersports like sailing, wind / wave surfing etc. we strongly recommend personal lessons.

Actually we don’t instruct to people without any watersports experience in duo sessions or bigger groups. Depending of the traffic in the canal of the Nassaukade space might be limited. On busy moments the trainer must have full attention for you!

SUP training GROUP

4-5 persons grouplessons are most suitable for learners who feel comfortable on a board, master the basic skills and can make a small tour of an hour without to much effort. They are ready to train for endurance for tours up to 2 hours and more.

To handle longer tours effective techniques will be energy saving and bring you further. We will concentrate on fine tuning these and other techniques.

MEETING POINT

The meeting point of the SUP lessons is located at   the “Geuzenkade”. Under the cooling shade of a beautiful willow we meet to start your sup experience! This willow is hanging over the water at the height of Geuzenkade 35-33.

We will be waiting for you, so we won’t miss each other!

Conditions

   Supping in te the Canals of Amsterdam is special and different from waters outside.   
   It’s narrower, there are more obstacles and there is more traffic. So you have to be alert and there are a few conditions we apply.
   The most important ones you can read here:
   1. You can swim.
   2. You are in good health, we ask you to fill in short questionaire before the first session.
   3. We will not train more than two persons for the first time. We need the opportunity to estimate your level, before training in a                 group. 
   4. Weather is leading. So we are not afraid of some rain and a bit of wind, but there are some limtits:
       – windforce beaufort 4 and  5 is only for the experienced ones, the trainer decides wether you can handle or not.
       – when thunderstorms show up we stop immediatly or we don’t even start.

Safety is number one!

Our golden rule is “ON THE KNEES”, when not enough space or when you feel insecure.
The SUPboard is your friend, so hold him when necessary.
